FXOS V1 is built for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. It runs locally and does not require an FXOS account, subscription, cloud processing, or a network connection for its image-effects workflow.
FXOS is $9.99 as a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. Get FXOS on the Mac App Store. There is no free tier, trial, or subscription. Refund requests and eligibility are handled by Apple under the terms that apply in your country or region.
FXOS adds no usage fee or attribution requirement to the exports you create. You are responsible for having the rights needed for any source files and other material you use. Updates, when released, are distributed through the Mac App Store.
Six effect families.
FXOS V1 ships six effect families and 37 authored presets: ASCII Overlay, Dither, Halftone / Dot Screen, Print Separation, CRT Screen, and Color Map. Start from an authored preset, try a controlled shuffle, stack compatible treatments, or tune the controls directly.
Print Separation is for visual exploration and exportable image treatments. It does not create production plates, RIP output, imposition, or press automation.
Import your image, then export the result.
Import
Use Import Media or drag and drop a PNG, JPEG, SVG, or another macOS-supported image into the workbench.
Export
PNG is available for rendered image output at 1X, 2X, or 3X. SVG appears only when the selected effect and settings have a vector-safe path. TXT appears only when the output contains generated text.
If an export option is unavailable, switch to PNG or choose an effect and settings that support the requested format.
Save editable work as an FXOS project.
Use Save Project to create a .fxos file. Keep the original imported image available on your Mac so FXOS can reopen the source through its saved security-scoped file permission.
If a source file was moved or deleted, restore it to its previous location or import it again.
Send only what you choose.
Open Send Feedback from the app's Help menu or Settings. FXOS prepares an email that you can review before sending. Local diagnostics are off by default in the composer and are included only when you choose to attach or export them.
