Get FXOS
What to know before you buy.
FXOS works locally with your files. Export options change with the effect, so you only see formats the result supports.
What Macs can run FXOS?
FXOS runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 15 or later. It processes your files locally and does not need an FXOS account or a network connection for its effects workflow.
How does FXOS fit into my design workflow?
FXOS is the focused treatment step between the image you start with and the layout you finish. Import a source image, find and tune a treatment, then export it into the poster, cover, or layout document you already work in. FXOS does not lay out final artwork.
What can I import?
PNG, JPEG, and SVG. Use Import Media or drag a file into the workbench.
What can I export?
Every render exports PNG at 1X, 2X, or 3X. SVG appears only when the selected effect and settings have a vector-safe path. TXT appears only when the output contains generated ASCII text.
Which effects are included?
Six effect families: ASCII Overlay, Dither, Halftone / Dot Screen, Print Separation, CRT Screen, and Color Map. Start with an authored preset, try a controlled shuffle, stack compatible treatments, or tune the controls yourself.
Does Print Separation create production-ready plates?
No. Print Separation is for visual exploration and exportable image treatments. FXOS does not create plates, RIP output, imposition, or press automation.
Does FXOS upload or generate my images?
No. You bring the image, and FXOS applies deterministic effects to it on your Mac. It does not generate source images, use an AI service, require an account, or send your work to a cloud render queue.
How much does FXOS cost?
FXOS is $9.99 as a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. There is no subscription.
Is there a free trial?
No. FXOS is a $9.99 one-time Mac App Store purchase. There is no free tier, trial, or subscription. Refund requests and eligibility are handled by Apple under the terms that apply in your country or region.
Can I use exports in client and commercial work?
Yes. FXOS adds no usage fee or attribution requirement to the exports you create. You are responsible for having the rights needed for any source files and other material you use.
Do I pay for updates?
FXOS is a one-time purchase with no subscription. Updates, when released, are distributed through the Mac App Store.
